Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation awarded a $50,000 Research Grant to Stanford University to be used in The Dr. Matthijs van de Rijn Gift Fund. Dr. van de Rijn and his team continue to research leiomyosarcoma. Read the Letter of appreciation.
Dr. Matt's Research: Dr. Matt van de Rijn has provided this link to the Stanford Tissue Microarray Consortium with their research on the 'Prognostic significance of macrophage infiltration in leiomyosarcomas'.
Dr. Matt delivered a presentation at the CTOS 15th Annual Meeting, November 5–7, 2009 in Miami, FL.

Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation awards $50,000 Research Grant. Matt van de Rijn M.D., of Stanford University; Jonathan Fletcher M.D., of Dana Farber Cancer Center and Chris Coreless M.D., of Washington State University have formed a research collaborative to work together as a team towards seeking the cure for Leiomyosarcoma.

These researchers are already well known among the Leiomyosarcoma community of patients and professionals. This project will need considerably more funding as it progresses over time and LMSdr hopes to make future contributions.
