Grants Awarded


April 2008 Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation awards $50,000 Research Grant. Matt van de Rijn M.D., of Stanford University; Jonathan Fletcher M.D., of Dana Farber Cancer Center and Chris Coreless M.D., of Washington State University have formed a research collaborative to work together as a team towards seeking the cure for Leiomyosarcoma.

These researchers are already well known among the Leiomyosarcoma community of patients and professionals. This project will need considerably more funding as it progresses over time and LMSdr hopes to make future contributions.
June 2007 $25,000 Research Grant - donated by LMSdr in tandem with $25,000 from Liddy Shriver Foundation ($50,000 total grant) to NYU School of Medicine. Grant for Eva Hernando LMS project.
February 2007 Non-Research. $1,000 donated to ACOR Listserve for equipment failure problem. ACOR is the Listserve utilized by Leiomyosarcoma patients to share information and is a necessity for the LMS community being able to communicate together.
December 2006 $40,000 Research Grant to Matt Van de Rijn at Stanford University. Leiomyosarcoma Research - Microarray.
