Warren Bailey with members of the American Cancer Society
Warren Bailey, an LMSdr Board Member, was asked to give three speeches for the American Cancer Society during the "Relay for Life".
The shirt Warren is wearing, in the picture above, was presented to him by the ACS from the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. The Pilots, World Amateur Champions in Baseball, presented this shirt as a thank you for throwing out the first ball to their season as part of the "Relay for Life". The shirt, signed by all the players and coaches, is the same Number, #6, that Warren wore when he played for them 40 years earlier.
Warren gave the opening ceremonies speech, "Staying in the Game"; the survivors banquet speech "My Cancer Story"; and at the end of the 24-hour Relay he talked about Research.
Thank you, Warren, for inspiring us and spreading awareness about Leiomyosarcoma.
